The Tennessee River has a rich history in this region. Historically the Holston River was considered part of the Tennessee River with its beginnings in Virginia, but now the juncture between the French Broad and the Holston is the official beginning of this mighty river. There is an incredible spot I was given access to paint from that overlooks this juncture. I spent the afternoon capturing this scene En Plein Air, listening to the blue birds’ song and enjoying the breeze coming up from the river. What a place!
