This painting is a step in a new direction. It is a piece that speaks so profoundly to my upbringing and my endless adventures in our woods behind my parents home. These were my stomping grounds, the places I spent so many afternoons sketching and watching the birds sing to one another. This particular bird here is the Marsh Wren singing a love tune to his lover, trying to bring her out of hiding.
